| Rules for Raiding |
Intro
Raiding requires a great deal of organization, patience, and teamwork. Every person in the raid should be doing their best to ensure the success of the raid. As we raid together and learn how to better play our classes, we will, as a result, be more successful. We will make mistakes and we will have to adjust our strategy from time to time. Every mistake, as well as every success, will help us improve and prepare us to advance to more difficult content. To have the most effective raiding experience, we must enforce certain rules for our raid force.
Raid Rules
- Listen and pay attention to the Raid Leader. The Raid Leader is responsible for the success of the raid. This includes setting up groups for maximum effectiveness, delegating tasks, and issuing orders during the raid. It is your responsibility to heed the directions of the Raid Leader.
- Everyone who shows up, ready to raid, will be assigned DKP for showing up. We may have more people showing up for the raid than we have room for and will have to ask some people to sit out. Those people may be asked to sit in should someone need to leave or in the event we decide that one person would be better suited to a particular encounter than another. Do not take it personally if you are asked to sit out or step out of the raid for the success of the raid.
- Do not get yourself locked out of a raid zone on your raid toon. You won't do us much good if we go to a zone and your character, that we were depending on, can't join us.
- Raid times will be posted on the forum. Look at the calendar on the forum for raid times. You are required to SIGN UP for the raid by posting under the event in the calender. Just as those who sign up and do not show up for the raid will not get DKP, those who show up but do not sign up will not get DKP. You will still get dkp for killing names or clearing a zone, but not for showing up.
- We will be forming groups 15 minutes prior to the starting time of the raid. You are expected to be prepared to join when we begin forming up. If you are not ready, you will not be raiding. Do not be late!!!
- We will be using the in-game raid chat channel. The raid chat channel is not a social channel. We will need this channel open to issue directions. With few exceptions, everyone in channel will be muted except those who will need to be able to issue directions. If you need to say something, type it in raid chat.
- Gear and AA specs- For those of you who plan on raiding with us, you need to work on getting the appropriate gear for your toons. Also, you need to spec your toons with the right AA lines. We have some experienced raiders in our guild, so I'm sure they'll be happy to help you with any questions you have for selecting the right lines to go down on your achievement trees. EQ2Flames is also an EXCELLENT resource for learning the most about your class and how to spec your AA for raiding.
- Assist the right person. It is important that we're all attacking the same mob unless otherwise directed. There will be a Main Assist for all raids, through which everyone should be targeting.
- The minimum level to join these raids is 65. If you plan on raiding with us, you need work on leveling up as much as possible. While there are plenty of people in guild to group with and help you level, it is your responsibility to get your toon raid-ready.
- While we are a casual guild, raiding does require immense focus and organization. While we are raiding, we will be serious about raiding. This will ensure the success of the raid. Ultimately, our goal is to have fun. While success does not equal fun, it doesn't hurt.
Looting Policy
- Loot will be set on Leader-Only and will be assigned in accordance with our bidding policy (see #3).
- Raid drops are for raid toons only.
- Bidding on loot will be set up as follows:
- We will be using an open bidding policy.
- Minimum bid on any item is 5 DKP
- Any bids past 10 DKP must be in increments of 5 DKP
- In the event multiple people bid the minimum and no one bids higher, loot will be distributed on /ran 100
- The Raid Leader will determine who may roll on an item. Just because an item can be used by a particular class does not mean it should be.
- Exception: Because the success of our raid depends heavily on the MT, if it is determined that the MT needs an item that drops, the MT gets it. This is not a matter of favoritism, but we need the strongest main tank possible.
- Tradeable items will be collected and distributed at the end of the raid. No-Trade items will be given at the time of the drop.
- At the point where we have a transmuter in raid, treasured or unneeded items will be transmuted and those materials can be bid on.
** These loot guidelines are set up to be fair for all. Our main goal for drops is to help everyone get their raid toon in tip top shape!!! Most of us have great gear to get started on raiding, so lets remember to help those that need it most to catch up to us. As we raid more zones, we will start getting awesome drops for all of us to roll on!!! In other words, think of your guild members and DON'T BE GREEDY!!!
Raiding DKP
5 DKP for signing up for AND showing up ON TIME for the raid.
2 DKP for killing a name for the first time as a guild
5 DKP for clearing a zone
DKP is assigned for crafting consumables on a per order basis. Crafters interested in crafting for the raids may express their interest and they will be contacted by an officer with an order and DKP offer.
Disclaimers
**Disclaimer: These rules and guidelines are subject to change as needed. Should a problem arise during a raid where the rules do not apply or should not, in the view of the officers and leaders, apply, the officers present will do their best to deal as fairly as possible in the current situation and vote at the next meeting should a permanent change in rules be required.
ALSO...The Raid Leader is expected to make the raid as successful as possible. This may include giving orders, enforcing the rules, make suggestions to improve the raid performance, and address any issues that crop up. I expect raiders to be nothing but respectful to the Raid Leader. Do not take things personally; do not view him as an *bleep*. In short, be mature enough to take direction well, or you may find yourself sitting out on many raids.
